So definitely Sampoo did what Mahesh could not, in spite of the fact that both belong to different league of actors period.

Rajnikanth’s daughter Soundarya has wielded the megaphone for the movie and Lakshmi Manchu has bought the rights for undisclosed whopping price. She will partake in the promotional campaigns soon.

Filmed using 3D Picture Capture Technology, Vikram Simha casts Rajnikanth in dual roles and Deepika Padukone as the leading lady while Sarathkumar, Nassar, Aadhi, Jackie Shroff, Rukmini Vijaykumar played supporting roles. The makers are planning to release Telugu and Tamil versions of the movie on May 18.

Well the news is that Mahesh Babu has walked out of his much-publicized venture with UTV Motion Pictures. Touted to be the foray of popular production house into Tollywood, the movie was supposed to be directed by Koratala Siva. According to grapevine, Mahesh Babu miffed with the “too-many conditions” imposed by CEO Siddharth Roy Kapoor, husband of Vidya Balan.

Now the news is that new production house Mythri Movies, which has foothold in overseas distribution, is going to produce the film and replace UTV Motion Pictures. Mahesh seems to have given a fitting shock to Vidya Balan’s husband.

After few guidelines from Mahesh, Koratala Siva reworked on the story and Mahesh is now contended with the script. The movie will go onto floors after Mahesh wrap up his present commitment Aagadu. The other cast and crew are yet to be finalized. Now UTV Motion Pictures, which is set to debut into South, is said to be in doldrums.

The film was finally shelved due to plagiarism issues after original writer of the story complained in Writer’s Association. This is a common fact by now.

What’s latest buzz is that producer D.V.V Danayya has came forward to offer dates of Nayantara to producers of Telugu remake of Bollywood hit Oh My God. Starring Venkatesh and Pawan Kalyan in the lead roles, the movie is being produced by Suresh Babu and Sharath Marar. Director Dolly, who made Tadakha with Naga Chaitanya and Suneel, is likely to wield the megaphone. Tipped to be a satirical-comedy drama, the film is inspired from original Australian film Man who sued God.

Strong sources close to unit of Oh My God remake revealed that the makers are contemplating to rope in Nayantara as her dates are readily available. This once again proves how Tollywood is facing the issue of Heroine’s scarcity. So, if all goes well, Nayantara will be seen sharing screen space with Pawan Kalyan and Venkatesh.

Asian Cinemas, which has opened two theatres in Hyderabad last year, will be opening two multiplexes this year.

V.V.Vinayak, Hero Nithin and Samantha will open the Asian GPR multiplex with three screens at Kukatpally on 10th April between 7.30 am and 8.30 am. This multiplex will have a seater arrangement of about 1143 and various food courts will be available for refreshment. The rates are affordable to even the middle class people.

Ticket rate at this Kukatpally multiplex is Rs.125/-

The Asian Cine Square multiplex at Uppal, which is equipped with 5 screens and 1528 seats, will be opened by the Race Gurram team, which includes Allu Arjun, Surender Reddy and SS Thaman . Ex.MLA Raja Reddy and Corporator Suguna will open two of the screens .

The ticket rate at Uppal multiplex is only Rs.100/-

The actress is also interested in Malayalam films. “Yes, I may sign a Malayalam film by this month end,” she says, adding that she is also getting Bollywood offers. “I can’t tell you anything right now. Once I sign, I can reveal the details. But I will announce a few projects this month,” she says.

Upcoming Tamil film Kaththi in Thuppakki combo of Ilayathalapathy Vijay and director AR Murugadoss is facing political issues because of one of its producers Lyca Productions owner Subaskaran Allirajah.

It is known that Subaskaran Allirajah is close aide to Srilankan President Rajapakshe, which has hurt Tamilians feelings who requested government to take an action against Kaththi makers. However an official clarification regarding this is awaited from Kaththi makers.

This is not the first time that Vijay’s film is facing a political problem. Kaavalan and Thuppakki were banned from hitting screens on the release day, but Kaththi is facing troubles at the shooting stage itself.

Speculations around Superstar Rajinikanth’s next film working overtime. After it is stated that Rajini will be romancing two heroines and Anushka is finalized for one of them, now we hear that Rajinikanth will be playing dual roles in the movie.

Superstar is known for his penchant for portraying various different characters such as Lord Raghavendra, powerful Zamindar in Muthu, Arunachalam, as an illusion of king in Chandramukhi et al.

If sources are to be believed, Rajinikanth will be essaying the roles as a powerful man of previous century and a youngster of present generation in KS Ravikumar film. Makers are in talks with Sonakshi Sinha to pair up young Rajinikanth. However, nothing is officially confirmed on its front.

TRS has maintained all these days, that it is going alone in the elections and ruled out an tie-up with likeminded parties including Congress.

But the BJP and TDP coming close to clinch a seat-sharing deal seems to have changed all that.

TRS leader and former MP B. Vinod Kumar is in Delhi and holding talks with Congress leaders on a possible alliance.

Congress too has given indications that it is open to enter into alliance with parties other than CPI.

Interestingly, another TRS leader AP Jithender Reddy, who had a stint in BJP previously, is busy meeting BJP central leaders on a possible alliance.

Most interesting is the report that TRS chief KCR is now keen on forging alliance with one or the other party.

Power Star Pawan Kalyan said that he even stand opposite to his loving brother Chiranjeevi to maintain law and order in the state. Pawan said that Chandra Babu Naidu has concentrated more on farmers and have controlled law and order. These statements in the media meeting get clarity on Pawan Kalyan support to Telugu Desam Party and Chandra Babu Naidu. One can understand Pawan clarity and his support through Jana Sena party.

Andhra Pradesh municipal elections counting on April 9

Hyderabad: The counting of votes polled in Sunday’s municipal elections in Andhra Pradesh will be taken up on April 9 as the state high court Tuesday rejected a petition seeking postponement of the process till the general elections.

The court did not agree with the argument of the petitioner that counting of votes polled in municipal elections may influence the voting in assembly and Lok Sabha elections.

As per the schedule announced by the state election commission, the counting of votes was to be taken up on April 2 but the high court has now postponed it till April 9.

The political parties had opposed declaration of municipal results before the general elections but the state election commission had declined to change the schedule.

The petitioner’s lawyer, however, said with the high court’s verdict, they now have the chance to move the Supreme Court, which last week had directed the election commission not to declare the results of rural local bodies before May 7.

Over 73 percent polling was recorded Sunday in the elections to 146 municipalities and 10 municipal corporations in the state.

In what is being described as the semifinal before the general elections, 73.16 percent of 95 lakh voters cast their votes to elect candidates for 3,990 wards in 146 municipalities, and 2,507 divisions in 10 municipal corporations.

There are 17,864 contestants in the fray in the municipalities and another 3,343 candidates are testing their fortunes in the corporations.

The Supreme Court on March 27 had directed state election commission not to declare the results of rural local body elections before May 7.

Hearing a petition challenging the election commission’s decision to announce the results of panchayat raj elections on April 13, the court asked the election authorities to declare the results after May 7.

The petitioner had argued that the results could impact the simultaneous elections to state assembly and Lok Sabha scheduled in two phases on April 30 and May 7.

The elections to 1,096 Zilla Parishad Territorial Constituencies (ZPTCs) and 16,589 Mandal Parishad Territorial Constituencies (MPTCs) are scheduled on April 6 and 11.

The state election commission had to announce schedules for elections to rural and urban local bodies on the directions of the Supreme Court and the state high court respectively.

The local body polls were announced even as the Election Commission declared the dates for elections to state assembly and the Lok Sabha.

Hyderabad: Fresh with his success in the form of ‘Legend’ Bala Krishna wants to take the political plunge.

This is not for the first time that Balayya wanted a political role for himself. The difference this time is, TDP chief Chandra Babu Naidu might not be able to say no. It is another issue if Naidu finds an “easy way out” in the form of roping in Power star Pawan Kalyan.

But Balayya is TDP’s “very own man” and another NTR scion Harikrishna is said to be unhappy.

Indications to the extent that Balayya is keen to contest elections, have already emerged. Balayya Fans associations have come out in the open. They demanded a political role to Balayya.

For a while, there were reports that he wants Naidu to make him the working president of the party.

And as the election notification is slated to release notification on Wednesday, Balayya fans would demand Naidu to give their icon a chance to contest from Hindupur or Penamaluru in Krishna District.

‘Legend’ is replete with Balayya’s political punch lines and he frequently refers to his father NT Ramarao, who took Congress to task in 1980s and rode back to power in 1994.

Balayya even warned in the film, that history would repeat. This may interpreted in different ways. Observers believe that the movie has been at the right time to take advantage of election fever.

It is for this reason that Balayya has taken up “Legend Simha yatras” across Seemandhra districts for three days, starting Tuesday.

Though it is usual for the star to visit Narasimha Swami temples after the success of a film. This time, there is a big difference: Balayya will meet his fans directly.

He will visit Rajahmudry, Eluru,Vijayawada, Mangalagiri, Pedakakani, Ongole, Nellore, Tirupati, Kadapa, Ahobilam and Kurnool.

News making rounds that Balakrishna, a well-known Tollywood hero and Telugu Desam Party leader is all set ready to contest from Visakhapatnam Lok Sabha constituency on TDP ticket.
