A Red Giant Movies release, Nedunchalai is a story set in the 90's starring Aari and Shivada Nair. The second directorial venture of Sillunu Oru Kadhal fame Krishna, this movie has music by Sathya.

Nedunchalai opens to a narrative of the birth of a famed highway robber Tharpai Murugan (Aari), in a car accident, and how he goes on to establish a name for himself as a feared robber. Murugan's daredevilry in a train robbery becomes one of his most famous exploits. It is at this time that a crooked cop Maasanam (Prashanth Narayanan) enters Murugan's life. The two don't get along well and the policeman uses all means at his disposal to go full out against Murugan. Murugan, using his ingenuity and ferocious power takes on the cop. However, a sudden accident in Murugan's life brings him into contact with Manga (Shivada Nair). Manga runs a Dhaba on the highway. How Murugan's life takes a turn after love blooms between him and Manga and his encounters with Maasanam form the rest of the story... What is Murugan's fate? How does Maasanam affect Murugan's life? Will Murugan be able to unite with Manga? To know the answers to all these questions, watch Nedunchalai on the big screens!

Director Krishna is back with a movie after nearly 8 years since his Sillunu Oru Kadhal. He states that he did not come up with the story of Nedunchalai in just a day. He has stated that his observation of the people living by the highways in areas between the rural and urban areas. The story, set across three different time zones has an 80's and 90's feel to it. The execution has been done well and the gripping screenplay stands testimony to the hard work put into the movie. Aari has transformed from a lover-boy to a ferocious rustic hardcore highway robber and all his dedication shows on screen. Shivada Nair does not look like a debutante... She impresses with her performance. Prashanth Narayanan and Salim Kumar excel in their roles. Sathya's score for the songs needs a special mention. His BGM is very good too. The first half is excellent and the pace of the second half is also good. Nedunchalai will be a very good take-off pad for both Aari and Shivada Nair and a major break for director Krishna, following his maiden Sillunu Oru Kadhal.

Fine Focus and Udhayanidhi Stalin's Red Giant Movies have a winner on their hands with Nedunchalai. Head over to the theatres to catch the movie now.
